Verbio is seeking a highly motivated, self-driven, Electrical and Instrumentation Technician, for its production facility in South Bend, IN.

About Verbio
Verbio acquired South Bend Ethanol, LLC, an operating ethanol plant located in South Bend, Indiana. As a global leader in the renewable energy industry, this will be Verbio’s second US production facility following the successful commissioning of its Nevada, IA plant. The site will be developed over the next three years incorporating Verbio’s advanced engineering and operating technology practices. Verbio intends to expand and develop the plant into a modern biorefinery at an estimated total investment of $230 million.

Integration of the ethanol production with the RNG production process, unique to the Verbio brand and developed successfully at the company`s facilities in Europe over the past decade, will result in higher efficiencies and improved sustainability. Following commissioning, the production capacity of the plant will be at 85 million gallons of corn ethanol and 2.8 billion cubic feet (Bcf) of RNG per year.

Position Purpose
This role will specifically focus on electrical and instrumentation in the plant to ensure proper operation of all instrumentation and electrical system.

Essential Functions
  • Perform emergency maintenance on failed equipment
  • Install, maintain and troubleshoot PLC’s, process controls, electrical, instrument, and pneumatic equipment.
  • Calibrate, configure, and repair of measurement/controls instruments flow, level, pressure, temperature, and PH including associated valves and valve actuators
  • Assist with the shutdown and startup of equipment on shut down projects.
  • Adhere to all OSHA and National Electrical Safety Code regulations and procedures
  • Replace and repair parts, rewire, install related instrument/electrical items including conduit and/or wiring
  • Preventative and proactive electrical tasks and compliance procedures
  • Inform management of any instrument/electrical parts needed and assist with maintaining the required instrument/electronic/electrical parts inventories.
  • New installation of equipment will be required at times.

Qualifications
  • Two (2) years of on the job experience or equivalent education
  • Good communication and organizational skills
  • Experience troubleshooting electrical and instrument control systems and maintenance support equipment
  • Experience reading technical drawings and schematics
  • Familiar with computerized maintenance managements systems
