Welcome to North Star Ag! We’re hiring an Outside Sales Consultant in NW North Dakota who will work with farms/customers in the territory selling North Star Ag’s shortline equipment. In this role you will work from home traveling throughout the territory with occasional travel to our home office in Tower City, ND.

North Star Ag is a full-service short line machinery dealer in the upper Midwest offering a vast array of machinery, parts, and services! We are known for having the largest new and used inventory in the region, supplying our customers with great options when it comes to buying machinery. We do more than just sell machinery, we also offer services such as machinery rentals, custom bin moving, machinery setup, parts, and shop services.

We offer competitive compensation with commission, phone, computer, vehicle, paid holidays/vacation, and 401K.

 

What you will be doing:

  • Call on Farms/Customers in the NW corner of North Dakota to develop a relationship with them to sell them North Star Ag’s shortline equipment.
  • Deliver the products sold (what can be done with a pickup).
  • Light service work to keep customers going.
  • Facilitate and communicate with the office to make sure the highest level of customer service is being provided. 
  • Attend dealer meetings & trainings throughout the year.
  • Attending farm shows (KMOT & Big Iron).
  • Fill out weekly sales/leads/market reports.
  • Meet with vendor reps.

What we’re looking for:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required, college degree preferred, agriculture and/or farming experience is beneficial.
  • Significant work experience in customer service or sales strongly preferred.
  • Highly motivated and target driven with a proven track record in sales.
  • Able to memorize product specifications and demonstrate use accurately.
  • Must be reliable and punctual.
  • Desire to continue to develop skills and knowledge.
  • Excellent selling, communication (both written and verbal), and negotiation skills.
  • Outstanding interpersonal skills and a positive attitude.
  • Articulate and well-spoken with excellent phone and email etiquette.
  • Strong work ethic, self-motivated.
  • Always demonstrate honesty and integrity.
  • Excellent knowledge of MS Office.
  • Prioritizing time management and organizational skills.
